What is the shelf life of cellulose ethers?
Generally 2 years when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep packaging sealed to avoid moisture absorption.
What causes bubbles in putty powder with HPMC?
Bubbles are usually caused by: 1) too fast mixing trapping air; 2) lack of defoamer; 3) HPMC dissolving too quickly on the surface, sealing air inside. Slowing mixing speed or adding defoamer helps.
How does temperature affect HPMC viscosity?
HPMC viscosity decreases as temperature rises. When temperature drops, viscosity recovers. However, avoid prolonged heating above 80°C to prevent performance loss.
